The FreeStyle Libre software is intended for use by individuals and healthcare professionals to aid in the review, analysis, and evaluation if information such as sensor blood glucose testresults, blood ketone testresults, and other data uploaded from the FreeStyle Libre flash monitoring system, in support of an effective diabetes health management program.
The Freestyle Libre sensor is applied on to the back of the upper arm with a simple, disposable device called an applicator. When the sensor is applied, a thing flexible and sterile fibre is inserted just under the skin. It is held in place with a small adhesive pad. In a study conducted by Abbott, users agreed that inserting the sensor was no more painful than a typical finger prick test.
To obtain a glucose reading, simple perform a quick, painless 1-second scan of the reader over the sensor. This scan gives you more information than monitoring with blood glucose strips, without the need for routine finger pricks, The Freestyle Libre system also offers LibreView to generate concise reports to assist with the analysis of the glucose data.
Each scan of the reader over the sensor gives a current glucose reading, the last 8 hours of glucose history, and a trend arrow showing if glucose is going up, down, or changing slowly. The reader can scan through clothing.

Howto apply FreeStyle Libre
1. Choosing the site
– Select an area on the back of your upper arm, avoiding areas with moles, scarring, or recent skin insulin injections.
– Select a different site than one most recently used.
2. Preparing your skin
– Preparing your skin is an important step toward ensuring adhesion. Our sensor adhesion guide in our support section suggests solutions to help overcome common skin surface conditions.
3. Applying the sensor
– The sensor pack sensor applicator are packaged as a set (separately from the reader).
A. Open the sensor pack by peeling off the lid completely. Unscrew the cap from the sensor applicator and set the cap aside.
B. Line up the dark mark on the sensor applicator with the dark mark on the
sensor pack. On a hard surface press down firmly on the sensor applicator until it comes to a stop.
C. Place the sensor applicator over the prepared site and push down firmly until the sensor is in place.
D. Insure the sensor is secure after application. Place cap back on the sensor
applicator. Discard the used sensor pack and applicator per local regulations
